Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has taken notice on the incident of gang rape of a girl in Jhelum and sought report from RPO Rawalpindi.
IG Punjab directed DPO Jhelum to arrest all accused involved in the incident and bring them to justice. According to details, the mother of raped girl informed police six days after incident, upon which case was registered and legal action was initiated. The victim girl was taken to medical test and police arrested four accused nominated in the incident. IG Punjab directed officers to arrest the remaining accused as soon as possible and ensure prompt delivery of justice to the victim. Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that there is zero tolerance for sexual abuse against women and children and such ruthless criminals do not deserve any sympathy.
