Traffic Police Punjab decides to extend paperless driving license system across the province.

The modern system will ensure  provision of all facilities to the citizens under one roof. Sohail Akhtar Sukhera.

In line with the vision of Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, steps are underway to promote modern policing and service delivery.  In this regard, Traffic Police Punjab have decided to extend paperless driving licence system in all over the province. DIG Traffic Police Punjab Sohail Akhtar Sukhera said that after the success of the pilot project of paperless driving license system in Rawalpindi, it is now being extended to other cities of Punjab.  Paperless driving license system is being set up in Faisalabad in next phase, Mr Sukhera added. DIG Traffic said citizens shall enjoy all facilities of driving licence under one roof by this modern project and unlike in the past, the driving license candidate will only bring with him an identity card issued by NADRA and will become part  of the system through biometrics.  He said that in the paperless driving license system, the candidate would not have to take the file and fill it up, nor would he have to go around the shopkeepers to take pictures for attaching on the file.  Similarly, there will be no need to go at the post office for driving license tickets and the candidates will be part of the fast and transparent process through Queue Matric without getting stuck in any line.  For the convenience of the citizens, the facility of payment of International Permit, National Driving License and STR fee will be provided at a single counter, DIG Traffic added.

DIG Traffic Sohail Sukhera reiterated that as per the vision of IG Punjab, several projects have been started in Traffic Police Punjab with the objective of improving service delivery for the convenience of the citizens.  He added that the issuance of traffic licenses has been computerized and made completely transparent by this modern paperless system and it has also been tracked faster through modern technology. Citizens will be able to get their driving licenses easily without any hassle.  He vowed that the provision of services would be further improved in the light of feedback received from the citizens.
