Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has said that change in police station culture is only possible with quick redressal of issues of citizens and provision of best and easy service delivery to them.  Supervisory officers should pay surprise visits to police stations and offices, also hold open courts simultaneously. During surprise visits, officers should conduct special inspections of staff behavior and public service delivery process. Actions should be taken against those involved in corruption, disrespect to citizens or cause deliberate delay in resolving issues under zero tolerance.  He said that these surprise visits will provide feedback of innocent citizens about behavior of police officers and personnel in police stations and offices and also expedite the process of change in Thana Culture. He further said that sting operations in Lahore especially against beggars are commendable which should be continued in the same spirit across Punjab. Such sting operations against proclaimed offenders, fugitives, land grabbing mafia and anti-social elements should also be intensified so that the criminals could be taken behind the bars. He further said that the patrolling plan across the province should be updated on weekly basis to keep pace with the changing situation with effective monitoring while trackers in patrol vehicles should remain active in every situation.

IGP added that in the districts where the trackers of vehicles are faulty, the RPOs should send reports to the CPO within a week based on viable suggestions for making them functional and in meanwhile effective monitoring of patrolling vehicles and staff should be ensured through E-Police Post App.  He further said that all available resources should be utilized to provide all possible security to foreigners especially Chinese nationals while permanent checkpoints should be avoided and in case of mobile checkpoints the Circle Officer and SHO should take full responsibility.  He said that the best results should be achieved by working in accordance with their original objectives from all police formations. "Come and work on the front foot to eradicate organized crime, IGP added , when I or my representative started checking you people and  wherever  organized crime of drugs ,gambling was caught  then suspension is not a punishment in my view and responsible persons will no longer be the part of Punjab police. I am telling you again and again to work with the spirit of jihad to solve the problems of the people and eradicate these social evils especially drugs.   He issued these instructions while directing to all the RPOs of the province during the RPOs video link conference held at the Central Police Office today.

Instructing the officers, the IG Punjab further said that people friendly policing and speedy eradication of crimes and the best professional training of the force in line with modern requirements is the need of the hour.  Steps should be taken to exploit all available resources for changing police from crime fighting force to Public friendly service. He directed that special training in public dealing and stress management should be imparted to the trainees.  The supervisory officers should play active role to improve the conviction rate.  He further said that entries in the Beat Box should be ensured at all as it can be checked at any time and the Supervisory Officers should also check the Beat Box on regular basis.  He further said that special attention should be paid to digital monitoring of all stages from registration of FIRs in serious cases till the conclusion of the case, while intelligence-based operations should be expedited to tighten the noose around the crimianls .
