Crackdown against anti-social elements and criminal elements continues across the province on the instructions of IG Punjab.

Vehari police arrested 316 proclaimed offenders, 312 drug dealers and 266 illegal arms dealers in the last one month.

300 cases of crime against property were traced and property worth Rs. 1 crore 61 lac 24 thousand was recovered.

66 members of 21 gangs were arrested and 13.526 million rupees of stolen property was recovered.

On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, crackdown against anti-social elements is going on in all the districts of the province and especially crackdown against notorious criminals, illegal weapons and drugs has been intensified.  In this regard, Vehari Police under the leadership of District Police Officer Ameer Abdullah Khan Niazi has taken emergency measures in the last one month to arrest anti-social elements and achieved significant successes against criminal elements.  Meanwhile, during the operation launched by Vehari Police for the arrest of wanted criminals in serious cases, the police teams performed high performance and arrested 316 notorious criminals involved in serious incidents including murder, robbery and looting out of which 49 are of  A category and 267 B category criminals. During this period, Vehari police traced 300 cases of crime against property and recovered property worth more than Rs. One crore 61 lac 24 thousand. Whereas arresting 66 members of 21 dangerous gangs,  It was also ensured the recovery of stolen goods  worth of 01 crore  35 lac 26 thousand .  In addition, 266 suspects were arrested during the operation against criminals and heavy weapons were recovered from their possession including 30 guns, 21 rifles, 198 pistols, 09 revolvers, 05 carbines and hundreds of bullets. Against anti-social elements during the operation, 312 accused were arrested and 91 kilo cannabis, 7621 liters of liquor with lahan, 20 activated kilns and distillery were recovered from their possession. 76 cases were registered in implementation of National Action Plan in which 24 cases were registered for violation of Loudspeaker Act and 50 cases for violation of Tenancy Act and 372 cases of over speeding , 379 cases of power theft,  50 cases of fire work , 25 cases of bogus number plate, 08 cases of open sale of petrol, 14 cases of substandard cylinders in vehicles, 03 cases of display of arms, 06 cases of Sheesha smoking and 23 cases of Gambling Act were registered.  District Police Officer Vehari Ameer Abdullah Khan Niazi said that the convenience of the citizens is being given priority during the operations against anti-social elements. The sense of security among the people should be more pronounced and they should consider the police as their helper.  He added that crackdown on proclaimed offenders, robbers, drug dealers and criminal elements would continue on a daily basis to ensure safety of life and property of the citizens.
