IGP bids farewell to Capt (r) Arif Nawaz

Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani on Thursday said that Capt (r) Arif Nawaz Khan is one of the lucky few police officers who has twice had the opportunity to head the Punjab Police.“In both periods as Punjab IG Police, he has improved the prestige of the police department by improving policy-making, public service delivery and best administrative reforms.”Punjab IG Police Inam Ghani expressed these views at a farewell held in honour of retiring Capt (r) Arif Nawaz Khan at Central Police Office here on Thursday.

The IG Police further said that Capt (r) Arif Nawaz Khan not only faced every challenge with excellent leadership skills but also successfully launched several projects of Smart and Community Policing with his expert skills and abilities. Inam Ghani said that career of Capt (r) Arif Nawaz Khan is a shining example for young police officers and he also has the honour to work under his command. He further said that the police department is the home of all the retired officers and personnel where they are always honoured.

It is to be noted that IG Railways Police Capt (r) Arif Nawaz Khan is set to retire on completion of his service on August 27 (today. During the ceremony, Capt (r) Arif Nawaz Khan expressed gratitude to the Punjab IG Police for the honour and said that he considers the Central Police Office as his second home. “My services for the police department will always be available.” He further said that he is grateful to his senior and junior officers and staff for their support, hard work and teamwork in launching several projects to improve public service delivery.

Expressing his feelings, he added, “I am very happy to be retiring after completing my departmental service and thank God for giving me every opportunity of my professional career during my long service to be successful in every challenge of career.” He said that the coming era is more challenging and Punjab police officers will have to discharge their responsibilities more diligently and sincerely than ever before as this is the requirement of the time to come.
