IG Punjab visits Alamgir Road, Pando Street Islampura, reviews security arrangements for the main procession of 9th Muharram.
CCPO Lahore briefed IG Punjab about security arrangements at Safe City Mobile Command Center.
Thanks to the grace of Allah and the efforts of the Punjab Police, the first ten days of Muharram are passing peacefully.
Scholars of all schools of thought have their support. Inshallah, no stone will be left unturned for the foolproof security of religious gatherings and processions from Ashura Day to 12 Rabi-ul-Awal. IG Punjab.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani said that Punjab Police is using all available resources throughout the province during the 10th of Muharram to ensure the best security arrangements for Majalis and processions and by the grace of Allah, efforts of police teams and steps taken by the Punjab government, Muharram ul Haram is passing peacefully. He further said that all possible measures are being taken for the security of the main processions and Majalis of Ashura Day and insha-Allah this year as in the past, Muharram ul Haram will pass peacefully. He further said that Punjab Police has the support of Ulemas of all schools of thought and all Ulemas are united for inter-faith harmony, national unity and solidarity among Muslims and to maintain law and order in religious gatherings and processions from Ashura to 12 Rabi-ul-Awal, Every possible steps will be taken . He further said that our forefathers had made great sacrifices in the establishment of Pakistan so the security of this country is the common responsibility of all of us and with this respect, ulemas are also playing united and constructive role whereas every citizen will also have to play it's vital role. He further said that on Ashura Day, CCPO Lahore including all RPOs, CPOs and DPOs would be present in the field and modern technology is being utilized for the security of sensitive processions and Majalis. He appealed to the people not to leave their homes unnecessarily on Ashura Day so that they would face less hassle due to closure of routes adjacent to procession routes while Home department has issued orders of ban on double riding and closure of mobile service on Ashura Day upon which all possible steps are being taken to implement it. He expressed these views while reviewing the security arrangements for the main procession of 9th Muharram at Alamgir Road, Pando Street Islampura today and giving instructions to the officers and answering the questions of the media representatives.
CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, DIG Operations Sajid Kayani and CTO Lahore Muntazer Mehdi while briefing IG Punjab about security arrangements at Safe City Mobile Command Center said that the officers and personnel deployed on Muharram security duty are fully staffed, alert and vigilant and any activity or attempt to disrupt the peace in the society by the evil elements will not be allowed to succeed at all.CCPO Lahore further said that monitoring of the procession is being ensured through CCTV cameras alongwith other every possible steps. IG Punjab while instructing the officers and personnel deployed on the route of the procession, said that snipers should be deployed on the roofs of buildings and imambargahs on the way to the main processions of Ashura Day and to ensure that in the Majalis and processions, the mourners could not enter without being checked through walk-through gates and metal detectors. He also stressed that during security arrangements, keeping in view the traffic flow, alternate routes should also be considered carefully for facilitation of the citizens.
