A case has been registered against the accused under Section 354-A (PPC) which is punishable by life imprisonment or death penalty.
IG Punjab spoke to Chairman NADRA on telephone and asked to start the process of identification of the accused immediately.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani has said that the accused who assaulted and did high handedness a woman Tik Toker and her accomplices at Minar Pakistan, Greater Iqbal Park Ground do not deserve any concession and no effort should be spared to punish them severely. He further said that the incident with the woman is very unfortunate and therefore a case has been registered against the accused involved in the incident under section 354-A which is punishable by life imprisonment or death penalty. He added that the photographs of the people involved in the incident have been sent to the Chairman NADRA and the staff of NADRA is busy in the process of identifying the accused despite the leave. He further said that all the evidence against the accused will be collected and they will be arrested so that the responsible should be punished severely through a strong challan prepared in the light of evidence. IG Punjab has directed CCPO Lahore and DIG Investigation to supervise the investigation of the case and stressed that no effort should be spared to ensure that justice is provided to the victim on priority basis and also ensure non-discriminatory action against those responsible while meeting the requirements of justice.
