IG Punjab inaugurated digital "Punjab Police Office System" for paperless working in police offices.
The "Punjab Police Office System" in line with the modern working will lead to the elimination of file work and postal culture.
After August 14, the scope of this modern program will be extended to all police offices in the province. IG Punjab.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani has said that efficient use of information technology is a need of the hour to further upgrade the internal working system of the police, so that all professional matters can be carried out with more transparency and without delay and the overall performance of the force can be further improved and fast tracked. He further said that with regard to paperless working, the digital “Punjab Police Office System” is an important link in the steps taken for the promotion of modern policing in Punjab Police under which not only traditional file work and postal culture will be eradicated from police offices but also the official letters and other documents related to important office matters will reach the concerned supervisory officers online without any delay, which will make decision making about them faster and easier. He further said that “Punjab Police Office System” is being launched from Central Police Office in the initial phase while its scope will be extended to all district police offices of the province after August 14 next month and also supervisory and field officers on their mobiles. Under this modern program, they will be able to carry out official duties. He further said that in the light of the feedback received from the officers during the test run, the "Punjab Police Office System" should be continued to be upgraded so that every possible use could be made of this modern system of internal working. He expressed these views while talking to the officers on the occasion of inauguration of digital "Punjab Police Office System" at Central Police Office here today.
Briefing the officers about the Punjab Police Office System, DIG IT Waqas Nazir said that under the Punjab Police Office System, documents related to official orders and professional matters would reach their destination in real time. Initially, under the "Punjab Police Office System", officers can send office letters online as well as print them from a computer and send them through a manual. He added that through this program, supervisory officers can handle filework as well as send reminders about important meetings or other office matters, while launching paperless work saves valuable time and resources and a step towards modern policing. The IG Punjab directed the officers to make full use of the "Punjab Police Office System" and carry out all future office orders through this modern program.
