Inspector General of Punjab Police Inam Ghani said that all officers coming to Punjab from other provinces should be imparted short term course under the supervision of IT Wing on the use of all IT projects of Punjab Police especially public service delivery projects so that they may use the projects to play a key role in making the public service delivery process more fast track. He further said that Punjab Police has started several useful and successful projects of service delivery for the convenience of the citizens and thanks to their effective use, the journey of transformation of Punjab Police from crime fighting to service delivery force is in full swing. He further said that the “Post Promotion Supervisory Course” would be of special importance for the officers promoted to the rank of SPs before posting in which they would be briefed on the working of all units and wings of Punjab Police including use of IT projects of Punjab Police and every possible training will be imparted so that they can fulfill their professional responsibilities and play an effective role in solving public problems. He further said that modern professional training of the police force as per the requirements of modern policing is one of the top priorities of the department so that the trainee officers and personnel may perform their duties of service and safety to the public in accordance with the principles of smart and community policing. He expressed these views while presiding over an important meeting on training of officers at the Central Police Office here today. During the meeting, a "Post Promotion Supervisory Course" was approved before joining the officers promoted to SP rank.
Additional IG Training Kanwar Shahrukh informed the meeting that during the “Post Promotion Supervisory Course” the officers promoted from DSP to SP rank should be trained on working and use of IT projects of all units and wings of Punjab Police before joining so that they can play their commanding role in better way. He further said that the officers included in the "Post Promotion Supervisory Course" will closely review the working of each department and report to the course commander based on their observations while the head of the training college shall send the evaluation reports of all SPs after completing the "Post Promotion Supervisory Course" to Addl IG training. IG Punjab instructed the officers to provide special training to the participants of "Post Promotion Supervisory Course" on the usefulness of IT projects in smart and community policing so that they can address the issues of citizens with fast track. Additional IG Establishment Ali Amir Malik, Additional IG Training Kanwar Shahrukh, Additional IG Welfare and Finance Muhammad Farooq Mazhar, Additional IG PHP Muhammad Akram Naeem Bharuka , DIG Headquarters Shahzada Sultan, DIG Training Suleiman Sultan Rana, DIG Operations Sohail Akhtar Sukhera, DIG R&D Shahid Javed, DIG IT Waqas Nazir and other officers were also present on this occasion.
