IG for computerised record of lands owned by police

LAHORE:Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani has said that records of lands owned by Punjab Police in all districts of the province should be computerised by compiling them in the Central Police Office.

The IG Punjab issued these instructions during a meeting at the Central Police Office on Thursday. The meeting was attended by Additional IG Welfare and Finance Farooq Mazhar, DIG IT Waqas Nazir and AIG Development Capt (retd) M Ali Zia and other officers. He said certified ownership documents of all police lands should not only be in the records of Development Branch but also these records should also be stored in the Punjab Police's digital archive system through modern software alongwith manual record. IG directed DIG IT and AIG Development to provide complete details of all police stations, police lines, service centers, offices and lands owned by the police and other departments used by the police in the province. He further said that full details of police stations, offices or police properties located on the lands of other institutions should also be included in the record so that efforts to acquire land from these institutions with the help of the govt could be intensified.
