On the orders of IG Punjab, steps are being taken for the welfare of Police personnel affected by Corona.
Additional IG Welfare Muhammad Farooq Mazhar released funds of Rs. 68 lacs 50 thousand rupees for 274 personnel affected by Corona.

Additional IG Welfare and Finance Muhammad Farooq Mazhar has said that as per the instructions of IG Punjab Inam Ghani, the best welfare of police officers and personnel affected by Corona is among the top priorities of Punjab Police and financial assistance to the affected personnel is also underway in this regard so that the police force may continue to perform its duties of protection and service of life and property of the citizens with full determination and high morale. He further said that during the recent wave of Corona, 274 officers and personnel in all the districts of the province have been infected with Corona virus for which Rs. 68 lacs 50 thousand rupees relief funds have been sent to the Regional Police Officers from where Corona affected personnel in all the districts Rs 25,000 each is being given. He further said that since the inception of Corona, a total of 2413 officers and personnel have been infected with the virus for which a total of 6 crore 03 lacs 25 thousand rupees funds have been released by the department.
Additional IG Welfare and Finance Muhammad Farooq Mazhar further said that during the course of duty, measures would be taken on priority basis for the welfare of officers and personnel affected by corona while at the same time the process of corona vaccination of the force is being completed as soon as possible. He further said that as per the orders of IG Punjab, the implementation of SOPs in police stations, police offices and field formations during duty corona is being strictly observed so that the police force is safe from corona and may perform it's duties for protection and service to the citizens.
