On the direction of IG Punjab, massive operations against anti-social elements continued in the province.
Gujarat police have arrested 357 proclaimed offenders, 67 drug dealers and 72 illegal arms dealers in the last 30 days.
In 72 cases of illegal weapons, 194 bullets including 03 Kalashnikovs, 2 guns, 11 rifles, 54 pistols, 2 revolvers were recovered.
20 members of 07 dacoit gangs were arrested and more than Rs.48 lacs 21 thousand were recovered and handed over to real owners.
On the orders of Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani, in order to improve the process of protection of life and property of the people, expeditious operations are being carried out in all the districts of the province to improve the atmosphere of law and order . In this regard, Gujrat Police, under the supervision of DPO Omar Salamat is fighting against anti-social elements by day and night. DPO Omar Salamat said that in the last 30 days, the district police arrested a total of 357 proclaimed offenders, including 74 Category A, 196 B category and 87 court absconders. During the operations against drug dealers, a large quantity of drugs was recovered in which the police recovered 26 kg of hashish, 217 liters of liquor from the possession of the accused. 20 members of 07 gangs involved in dacoity and robbery were arrested and the stolen goods having worth of 48 lacs 21 thousand were recovered while in 72 cases of illegal arms including 03 Kalashnikovs, 2 guns, 11 rifles, 54 pistols, 2 revolvers and 194 bullets were recovered. DPO Omar Salamat further said that full scale operations against anti-social elements would continue. The district police is fully alert for the discharge of its duties. The people should consider the police as their protectors and helpers and immediately inform the concerned police about the presence of suspicious persons around them and No sacrifice will be spared by utilizing all available resources .
