Ceremony in honor of IT Division staff for setting up Punjab Police on modern technology was held at CPO.

IG Punjab appreciated the performance of IT staff in developing softwares and modern applications.

The IT team has launched more than a dozen modern policing projects in a short span of time.

Punjab Police is focusing on IT projects to improve the working system and public service delivery.  IG Punjab.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani has said that modern policing is not possible without effective use of information technology in the present times, therefore, Punjab Police is focusing on modernizing its working system to curb crime so that the process of public service delivery can be improved.  He further said that the IT Division of Punjab Police under the leadership of DIG Waqas Nazir has introduced more than a dozen projects and service apps in the last one year which have not only provided special facility in providing service delivery to the citizens but also, the overall system of police working is also getting faster and faster day by day.  He further said that effective monitoring should be continued for the up-gradation of other projects including Police Station Record Management System, Human Resource Management System and Criminal Record Management System and fulfillment of all matters as per the issued SOPs in order to  ensure immediate solution of citizens problems. He further said that the services of IT branch in modernizing the working system of Punjab Police is commendable while Punjab Police is focusing on IT projects to improve its operational system as well as public service delivery.  He directed that the IT team should continue to work for the completion of useful projects with the same enthusiasm and spirit in the future while the department would continue to encourage them. He expressed these views today while speaking at a ceremony in honor of the IT branch staff.

 During the function, DIG IT, Waqas Nazir, while briefing the IG Punjab about the programs and innovative apps launched by the IT Division in the last one year, said that Punjab Police under Smart and Community Policing,  more than a dozen information technology programs and apps have been launched for crime control and public  service delivery, including tourist registration, tenancy and employee registration, women safety, e-police post mobile app, e-sign test system and welfare management system, while improving internal working,  monitoring dashboard, weekly rest management system, motor transport automation, new police service card system and financial management system have been activated which has not only speeded up the process of rooting out criminal elements but also improved service delivery.  The atmosphere of mutual cooperation between the police and the people is also improving.  Thanking the IT Division, IG Punjab said that full utilization of force should be ensured from all the programs and applications developed for further improvement in overall working so that they too could better benefit from modern policing programs.  At the end of the ceremony, IG Punjab also distributed certificates of appreciation and shields to all the staff of IT branch. Additional IG Operations Sahibzada Shehzad Sultan, DIG Operations Sohail Sukhera, AIG Development Captain (R) Muhammad Ali Zia and other officers  were also  present on the occasion.
