IG Punjab issued orders to immediately vaccinate the police force to protect them from corona.
Officers over the age of 50 across the province should immediately get vaccinated against corona from government centers.
Officers and personnel above 40 years of age should register without delay to be vaccinated against corona.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani has said that the third wave of corona epidemic is very dangerous so that in order to protect the police force, the process of corona vaccination of officers and personnel in all districts of the province should be started immediately so that the police force engaged in the protection of property and lives of people may be kept as safe as possible from the dangers of Corona. He further said that Punjab government has started registration for walk-in vaccination for citizens above 50 years of age and for vaccination of citizens above 40 years of age, registration process is continued so all police officers and officials have been directed to quickly get themselves vaccinated so that that they can perform their duties of service and protection of the citizens while being safe from Corona. He directed the RPOs, CPOs, DPOs and unit heads to personally supervise the corona vaccination process of their subordinate force so that the police officers and personnel above 50 years of age should be given priority by the government and corona vaccine should be administered from the centers while at the same time officers above 40 years of age should register themselves for corona vaccination without any delay so that when the government starts vaccinating this category of citizens, they too can benefit from it on primary basis. The IG Punjab directed the officers to send regular reports of corona vaccination of all the district police forces to the CPO. He issued these instructions to all the command officers of the province today while on the direction of IG Punjab, DIG Welfare sent a letter to all RPOs, unit heads and DPOs.
In the letter, the IG Punjab, while issuing instructions to the supervisory officers, urged them to ensure implementation of the above instructions on priority basis while at the same time ensuring all possible steps to keep the force safe from Corona epidemic. He further said that the corona vaccination of the police force serving on the front line was a matter of urgency and therefore all possible steps would be taken in this regard.
