Instructions issued to ensure immediate legal actions against violation of Corona SOPs.
All CPOs and DPOs go to the field themselves after 5:30 pm to monitor the implementation of Corona SOPs.
All shops and markets should be closed till 6 pm as per government instructions except for the most urgent ones.
Police teams across the province should extend all possible cooperation and support to the district administration regarding the implementation of Corona SOPs.
Reports of actions taken against violations of Corona SOPS should be sent to CPO regularly. IG Punjab.
Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani has said that police officers should intensify timely preventive measures to ensure implementation of Corona SOPs as per government directives and RPOs, CPOs and DPOs in all districts should go out in the field in the evening hours and ensure self-monitoring of SOPs implementation. He directed the officers that violation of Corona SOPs in public places is not acceptable Therefore, in all the districts of the province, after 5:30 pm, CPOs and DPOs go out in the markets themselves and immediately inspect the implementation of Corona SOPs in markets, highways and other public places and ensure immediate legal action against the violators.
He further said that all markets and shops should be closed till 6 pm as per government instructions and only those shops and business centers which have been ordered by the government to continue their business (exemption) should be allowed to do that particular business activity. He directed the RPOs to also go out in the field after 7 pm and inspect the measures and implementation of Corona SOPs at busy places in different districts under their administration.
He further said that police teams in all the districts of the province should ensure all possible cooperation and support with the district administration regarding the implementation of Corona SOPs and to take full part in counter-insurgency operations and enforce the laws together. He further said that detailed reports of actions taken against violations of Corona SOPs in all the districts should be sent to the Central Police Office on a regular basis. He issued these instructions to all RPOs, CPOs and DPOs of the province through wireless message today.
IG Punjab instructed officers to increase police force in co-operation with other government agencies to curb Corona and every possible protection should be provided to the citizens while keeping its spread limited. He further said that strict legal action should not be delayed on the violation of Corona SOPs irrespective of the status of the offenders At the same time, an awareness campaign should be continued to create awareness among the citizens about the precautionary measures. He further said that for protection from Corona, the police force should strictly enforce duty SOPs and face masks should be made an integral part of uniforms.
