Police to set up three hospitals for staff

LAHORE: The Punjab Police would set up new welfare hospitals in three major cities for treatment of the junior officials of the department.

Chairing a meeting at the Central Police Office on Thursday, Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani said a proposal had been made to expand medical treatment facilities for the officers and personnel. “We are going to establish the Punjab Police Welfare Hospitals’ in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan to provide the best and standard treatment of the police officers/officials.”

The IGP issued directions to the senior officers concerned to give final shape to the scheme at the earliest. He directed them to identify suitable sites for construction of hospitals in the three cities. Mr Ghani said that the department would also allocate funds from the ‘welfare funds’ for the new hospitals. Lahore CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar and Rawalpindi RPO Imran Ahmar presented the master plan for the establishment of the hospitals.
