A meeting was held under the chair of IG Punjab to review the progress of pending summaries of the Police Department.
The meeting reviewed the summaries sent to various departments by Establishment, Legal, Logistics, Traffic and other wings.
All Unit Heads should intensify their efforts through effective coordination for early approval of pending summaries. IG Punjab
Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani has said that the summaries sent to other government departments by the police department to further improve the performance of professional matters, acquire modern resources, expand the scope of posts and recruit capable human resources ,there should be process of follow-up and coordination should be further improved for the early approval of the summaries sent by the department so that the problems faced in police co-operation could be eliminated and the process of service delivery and eradication of crime could be expedited and improved. IGP directed to expedite the progress on all the summaries sent to the government departments by Punjab Police. He directed to heads of all units to review their related affairs and remove the objections raised by the departments as soon as possible and send them back for approval and where necessary talk to the relevant officers yourself and ensure immediate approval of these summaries. He further said that the decision to set up District Reconciliation Committees and Police Complaints Authority is a good move and for their approval , Addl IG establishment and DIG legal should keep close coordination with Law Minister and other concerned offices whereas all possible steps should be taken for the early approval of the summaries regarding filling the vacant slots of SP complaints in districts as early as possible. He further said that Additional IG Logistics should liaise closely with the concerned departments for early approval of the summary sent for purchase of APCs and 4G locators while DIG Traffic Motor should ensure close follow-up for approval of summary of amendment in Transport Bill 2020. He further said that while reviewing the progress on the summary sent for expansion of PHP posts and procurement of new transport vehicles, they should be completed as soon as possible while approving the summary related to deployment of Research Officers in Special Branch should also be followed up by Additional IG Special Branch . He further said that the summaries sent to CTD for improvement in the pay package of psychologists, criminologists and other employees should also be approved as soon as possible. He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held at the Central Police Office today regarding the summaries of the police department. The instructions were sent to various departments by Establishment, Legal, Logistics, Traffic and other wings. The progress on the summaries was reviewed in detail.
During the meeting, the heads of Establishment, Welfare and Finance, Special Branch, Punjab Highway Patrol, Special Protection Unit, Logistics and Procurement and other departments and units briefed IG Punjab on their summaries on which IG Punjab gave instructions. He said that it was the responsibility of the command officers to get these summaries approved within the time frame through effective coordination and cooperation. Therefore, active efforts should be continued in this regard and the IG should also be kept informed about the progress made in this regard. ۔ He further said that out of the challan amount, legislation should be completed as soon as possible on the summary sent for the welfare and encouragement of traffic wardens and DIG Traffic should take all possible steps for effective follow up and approval of the summary as soon as possible. He further said that additional IG training should be followed up for early approval of summaries sent by the training branch. The meeting was attended by Additional IG Establishment Punjab, Azhar Hameed Khokhar, Additional IG Safe City Authority, Rao Sardar, Additional IG, Logistics and Procurement, Ali Amir Malik, Additional IG PHP, Shahid Hanif, Additional IG Training, Kanwar Shah Rukh, Additional IG Elite Farooq Mazhar, Additional IG Operations, Sahibzada Shehzad Sultan, Additional IG Special Branch Zaeem Iqbal Sheikh and other senior officers were also present.
