Gujrat Police bust 178 POs, 9 robbers gangs

On the directives of Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani, well-thought-out operations are underway against criminal and anti-social elements in all districts of the province with the aim of improve the rule of law in the society and protection the life, honor and property of the common man.

In this regard, the Gujarat Police under the leadership of DPO Omar Salamat has shown remarkable success against criminals in the last one month, which significantly reduced the rate of serious crimes in the district.
Gujarat DPO Omar Salamat said that special teams headed by experienced officers have been formed in the district and various tasks have been assigned to them using hard work and modern technology ,Police have arrested 28 members of 9 dangerous gangs involved in 40 robberies and dacoity , from whose possession a total of Rs12.7 million worth of stolen goods were recovered which include 03 cars, 12 motorcycles and 9 cattle heads, which have been handed over to their original owners.

Last month, Gujrat police cordoned off the area against criminals, three of the most wanted criminals in serious cases were sent to hell, while a young man of the elite force was martyred while protecting the lives and property of the citizens. A total of 178 proclaimed offenders were arrested in the operation, out of which 48 Category A and 130 Category B proclaimed offenders were wanted by the police in various cases.

Moreover, 04 accused wanted in cases of terrorism, 02 accused wanted in head money and 02 were arrested in foreign countries by the help of Interpol. Police conducted targeted operations against drug dealers in different parts of the district in February.

31kg of cannabis, 2kg of heroin and 451 bottles of different brands of liquor were recovered from the possession of 95 drug dealers and the accused were handed over to judicial custody. Gujrat Police is fully mobilized to eradicate arms culture from the district including 123 cases registered against illegal armed groups exposing arms via social media.

The police recovered 668 rounds including 05 Kalashnikovs, 06 guns, 17 rifles and 95 pistols from the accused. DPO Gujrat further said that no sacrifice will be spared in the discharge of duties for equal implementation of law and order . He further said that Gujrat Police is committed to protect the lives and property of the citizens and suppress criminals by cleansing the district from anti-social elements in a real sense and making the cradle of peace and order.
