2 robbers killed in crossfire
LAHORE – Two alleged robbers were killed during crossfire when they were fleeing the home after unsuccessful robbery attempt in Baghbanpura police precincts on Thursday.
Police investigators revealed two robbers, yet to be identified broke into a home located in Raseedpura and owned by a UK returned citizen Mohammad Tufail. “They made hostage the entire family at gunpoint and started looting gold ornaments, cash and other valuables from the home,” a family member said. According to him in the meantime Tufail managed to ascend the roof and started making noise that a couple of dacoits were looting his family. Police said all of sudden the dacoits left the home in haste and started to flee through Grand Trunk Road. The locals gathered on the spot also chased them and further informed a police constable deployed on the way, who also joined the chasing party.
“The robbers also snatched a motorbike to flee easily but the constable was near to overpower them when they opened indiscriminate fire on him,” police investigators said. They further claimed the constable also opened fire in self-defence resultantly both of them suffered multiple injuries while one robber was died on the spot and the other was shifted to the Services Hospital where he breathed his last.
Later, a good number of police contingents reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the City morgue for autopsy. Police concerned failed to ascertain their identity till filing of this report. Further investigations are underway.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old passerby declared dead by the public stood up all of sudden when the Tibby City police personnel tried to shift his dead body to morgue here on Thursday.

As per details, an unidentified man was asleep in Tibby City area and the local residents mistakenly took him dead. In the meantime, they phoned police concerned on which a few policemen approached the site but when they were near to pick his body the man stood up.
“We really felt pleasant surprise when he stood up and we thanks to Allah Almighty for his life,” a passerby Shah Hussain commented when asked.
The unconscious man apparently seemed a drug addict avoided to comment on the issue. Later, police personnel went back to police station with positive gestures saying they arrive to accomplish their professional task.
