Crackdown against anti-social and criminal elements continues across the province on the instructions of IG Punjab.
Lodhran police arrested 363 proclaimed offenders, 121 drug dealers and 52 illegal arms holders last month.
On the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani, crackdown against anti-social and criminal elements is going on in all the districts of the province and especially crackdown against proclaimed offenders, illegal weapons and drugs has been intensified. In this regard, Lodhran police last month took emergency measures to arrest anti-social elements and achieved significant successes against criminal elements. Meanwhile, during the operation launched by Lodhran Police for the arrest of wanted criminals in serious cases, the police teams performed high performance and arrested 363 notorious criminals involved in serious incidents including murder, robbery and looting out of which 24 crimianls were of A-category and 339 were of B-category and also arrested 30 members of 11 gangs and more than Rs 3.3 million rupees were recovered from their posession. In addition, during the operation against criminals, 52 suspects were arrested and heavy weapons were recovered from their possession including 11 Kalashnikovs, 03 guns, 03 repeaters, 01 rifle, 24 pistols, 30 revolvers, carbines 07, 01 push pistol and 93 bullets. While conducting operations against anti-social elements, 121 accused were arrested and 17 kilo chars, 12320 liters of liquor with lahan, 32 activated kilns, 180 grams of opium and liquor distilling equipment were recovered from their possession.
Moreover, 15 cases were registered while implementing the National Action Plan, In which 12 cases were registered for violation of Loudspeaker Act and 03 for violation of Tenancy Act. Besides, 80 cases of over speeding, 40 cases of power theft, 10 cases of illegal gas refilling, 03 cases were registered for bogus number plates and 38 cases of substandard cylinders in vehicles and 21 cases of Gambling have been registered in different police stations of District Lodhran. District Police Officer Lodhran Syed Karar Hussain said that the convenience of citizens is being given priority during operations against anti-social elements. The sense of security should be more pronounced and they should consider the police as their helper. He added that crackdown on proclaimed offenders, robbers, drug dealers and criminal elements would continue on a daily basis to ensure safety of life and property of the citizens.
