Robber killed, policeman injured in crossfire
KASUR, March11: A robber was killed and a constable injured during a trade of fire between participants in a marriage procession and the robbers on Multan Road near toll plaza in the limites of the Phoolnagar police station on Friday.
Reports said an eight member gang of robbers was looting motorists on Multan Road when a bus taking marriage guests from Gujrawala to Okara reached there.The robbers signalled the bus, but the driver did not stop. The robbers opened indiscriminate fire leaving an Elite Force official, Sohail Ahmad, injured.
Some of the wedding guests retaliated as a result of which one of the robbers was killed. His accomplices, however, fled leaving his body at the scene.
The killed robber had not been identified till the filing of this report.
In other incident, two robbers shot dead a motorcyclist, Ali Sher, near Rai Khurd village in the limits of Mustafabad police station.
