100 more held over police attack
MULTAN, March 17: Police on Thursday arrested more than 100 people who attacked Basti Malook Police Station during a protest against the registration of a false case.
Police have arrested more than 300 people so far in an operation, which was launched three days ago.
On the other hand, a Call Attention Notice against the police crackdown is going to be discussed in the Punjab Assemble on Friday (today). PPP deputy parliamentary leader Shaukat Basra raised the issue in the assembly on Wednesday.
City Police Officer Syed Dilawar Abbas said the crackdown was against criminals and it was not politically motivated.
