On the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani, operations against anti-social elements are in full swing across the province and crackdown on proclaimed offenders, illegal arms holders and drug dealers has been intensified. In this regard, Mandi Bahauddin Police under the leadership of District Police Officer Syed Ali Raza took emergency measures for the arrest of anti-social elements during the last month and achieved significant success against criminal elements. DPO Mandi Bahauddin Syed Ali Raza said that during the operation launched to nab wanted criminals in heinous cases, police teams arrested 111 notorious criminals involved in serious incidents including murder, robbery and robbery, including 30 of A category and 81 B category criminals. During this period, property cases worth Rs.3 crore 45 lacs were recovered from different cases and handed over to original owners. In addition, during the operation against criminals, 77 suspects were arrested and weapons were recovered from their possession including 10 Kalashnikovs, 32 guns, 16 rifles, 63 pistols, 01 revolver, 02 carbines and 2619 bullets. Taking action against anti-social elements, 39 cases were registered in which the accused were arrested and 19 kg of chars, 112 liters of liquor, 1.5 kg and 200 grams of Ice were recovered from their possession besides 01 case of violation of Loudspeaker Act, 52 cases of over speeding, 16 cases on power theft, 24 cases on Price Control Act, 01 case on gambling, 03 cases on gas refilling and 38 cases against violation of smog laws were registered. DPO Mandi Bahauddin Syed Ali Raza said that in operation against anti-social elements, the convenience of the citizens is being given priority so that the sense of security among the people is more prominent and they consider the police as their helper. He further said that it is our duty to provide justice to the people and ensure protection of lives and properties of the citizens. The police force is fully mobilized against crime, oppression and social evils while crackdown against proclaimed offenders, robbers, drug dealers and criminal elements will continue on a daily basis.
