Kidnapped minor rescued, captors held

GUJRANWALA: The Ferozewala police rescued on Tuesday a kidnapped minor from his captors and arrested three women for kidnapping and selling the boy.

City Police Officer Sarfraz Ahmad Falki told reporters Ashfaq Ahmad submitted an application to the Ferozewala station house officer on Nov 13 that his six-year-old son Zulqarnain went out to do errands and never returned.

The Ferozewala police registered a case against unidentified people. The CPO formed a team under Peoples Colony DSP Mian Moazam Ali which traced and arrested suspect Nusrat Bibi with the help of close circuit cameras. Nusrat told the police that she along with Yasmin kidnapped Zulqarnain from a street and sold him to Mahjabeen for Rs150,000.

The police recovered Zulqarnain from a house in Rakh Kikranwali and arrested the three people.

LAND RETRIEVED: The tehsil administration on Tuesday retrieved the land of Government Primary School, Bath, from influential people who had constructed a building at 16 marlas of the school.

A few days back, locals met Nowshera Virkan Assistant Commissioner Rashid Iqbal and informed him about the land grab.

A team under the supervision of Tehsildar Hamayoun Khalid with revenue officers and police officials demolished the building and handed over the land possession to the school administration.
