IG Punjab orders to prepare lists of land grabbing  mafia and groups across the province.

The names of government or retired officers patronizing the land mafia should also be included in the list.

Complete lists with names, data, crime history and other details of the land mafia groups should be sent to the CPO by October 28.  IG Punjab

Inspector General of Police, Punjab Inam Ghani has said that lists should be prepared with full details for the operation against land mafia occupying public and private lands and properties across the province and it should also consist the names, data and other details of serving or retired officers and influential persons who give undue favour and provide support to the Land Mafia from their social positions and powers for occupying government, commercial and residential lands, hence they do not deserve any concession. Names of their associates, influential patrons, their identity card numbers, criminal records, full address, apparent occupation / livelihood, phone numbers, support groups and the lands or properties occupied by them should be mentioned in these lists and it should also be ensured that whether it is commercial, residential or agricultural land along with it should be written with which government officer, this occupation mafia has a relationship / partnership in this regard. He added that the lists should also state the methods and tactics by which they occupy commercial, residential or agricultural lands and properties and seize government resources or private property, and the nexus of government officials or influential people having close ties by which the members of the land mafia in partnership are doing this disgusting business. Moreover, all these details based upon necessary information should be sent to Central Police Office by Wednesday, October 28.  He has sent these instructions by letter to the Additional IG Special Branch and all the RPOs of the province, including CCPO Lahore.

 The letter, issued on October 22, instructed all command officers in the province to use only reliable information to encircle active groups and criminals occupying public and private lands and property across the province.  Moreover, only reliable and authentic information should be included in these lists so that the operation against the occupation mafia can be made more effective and these anti-social elements occupying the lands can be brought to justice.  He further said that the details of the previous criminal records of the occupation groups should be included in the lists in any case so that the strongest legal cases could be prepared against them and severe punishments could be meted out to them by the courts. The letter urged all the officers to send the required information to the Central Police Office within the stipulated time as per the instructions issued.
