LAHORE: Punjab Highway Petrol busy in serving and protecting citizens on the Highways, August performance report issued.

2754 cases registered in August, 1526 cases on violation of traffic laws, 176 cases on keeping illegal weapons and 213 cases have been registered against narcotics.

In cases of illegal weapons, 14 Kalashnikovs, 27 Riffles, 28 Guns, 146 Pistols, 65 cartridges, 35 magazines and 1432 bullets were recovered.

In cases of narcotics and liquor, 3958 litter liquor, 30611 grams chars. Moreover, officials of PHP engaged on roads by day and night for guidance, safety and protection of lives and wealth of the public.

As per vision of Inspector General Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir and directions of Addl. IGP PHP Capt(R) Zafar Iqbal Awan (Sitara-e-Imtiaz) swift actions taken for the protection of lives and wealth of people. On roads and against anti social elements.

In this regard, PHP Headquarters issued Monthly performance report. According to the details, Punjab Highway Patrol upholding its traditions. However, served the public on roads with determination and helped the public in many ways.

In order to increase efficiency of the department, different branches of Punjab Highway Patrol did projects under different heads.

Punjab Highway Patrol lodged 1526 cases upon violation of traffic laws, furthermore, 176 cases of illegal weapons and its exhibition, 213 cases against narcotics. 3958 litter liquor, 30611-gram chars have recovered from the accused whereas in case of illegal weapons 14 Kalashnikovs, 27 Riffles, 28 Guns, 146 Pistols, 65 cartridges, 35 magazines and 1432 bullets have recovered from the accused.

Moreover, Punjab Highway Patrol arrested 145 proclaimed offenders Furthermore, patrolling Police provided service to 176 commuters on roads, 25 missing children also reunited with their parents whereas taking action against encroachment, 437 temporary encroachments eliminated.

Addl. IGP PHP Capt(R) Zafar Iqbal Awan said even in Muharram and Monsoon season, PHP officers and officials carried out their duties with full responsibility and diligence without caring for their own lives because protection of wealth and lives of citizens with provision of best service of public is their ultimate goal.
