Lahore: IG Punjab visited CPO control room on Ashura day, issued important instructions to RPOs, DPOs.

Police force provided foolproof security to 9127 processions and 36464 majalis during Ashra Muharram.

IG Punjab commends police force for best security arrangements for majalis and processions during 1st dacade of Moharram.

Officers and personnel should continue to work with the same spirit in the future for the protection of lives and property of the people.

IG Punjab Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir commended all RPOs, CPOs and DPOs, including CCPO Lahore, for ensuring the best security arrangements in all the districts of the province during the 10th of Muharram and said that in general, and on Ashura Day in particular, not only the department but the entire nation is proud of you for the spirit with which the police force performed its duties faithfully and dutifully despite the dangers of terrorism and corona.

IG Punjab said that during the first ten days of Muharram, the Punjab Police protected a total of 9127 processions and 36464 majalis, proving that the Punjab Police is fully capable of tackling any challenge, even in the most difficult situations or any trouble cannot stand in the way of Punjab Police’s determination.

He further said that from constables to senior officers all police force including Elite, Punjab Highway Patrol, PC, Dolphin, Peru and Traffic Police while all departments of Punjab Police deserve congratulations. Despite the threats of Corona, officers and personnel remained passionate on their duties with patriotic spirit.

He further said that he was grateful to the scholars of all schools of thought, peace committees and all citizens and institutions for their full cooperation with the Punjab Police and thanks to their cooperation, the 10th of Muharram was once again in peace and order. IG Punjab further said that he hoped that in future also police force would continue to perform their duties with the same spirit and would spare no effort to maintain law and order in the province.

Before it, IG Punjab Shoaib Dastgir visited the control room of Central Police Office on Ashura Day and reviewed the latest situation and security arrangements of central processions of 10th Muharram and issued important instructions to RPOs, DPOs on wireless.

IG Punjab directed the officers to deploy expert snipers on the roofs of A-category and sensitive majalis and on the roof tops of buildings situating on the routes of processions on Ashura Day and also brief the force about the seriousness of the current situation and sensitivity of duty besides checking them from time to time.

He stressed that plain-clothed commandos must be deployed for the protection of mourners in sensitive processions and majalis across the province to thwart the nefarious intentions of miscreants and anti-social elements.

IG Punjab said that the monitoring officers should keep abreast of the latest situation of the processions. And the field personnel and all the staff of the control room should be on alert. Till the last mourner leaves the place of majlis or procession.

IG Punjab Shoaib Dastgir said that on Ashura Day. The police force for the first time across the province monitored the central and sensitive processions of Ashura Day. Through drone cameras to keep an eye on terrorists and anti-social elements. While ensuring effective use of modern technology.

He further said that 114 drone cameras were used in all the districts of the province including Lahore. He further said that while cracking down on those who spread separatism. And religious hatred through social media, insulting language about holy persons used.
