Swift action being taken against anti-social elements, criminals on Punjab IG’s orders

As per the directions of Inspector General Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir, quick actions are being taken against anti-social elements and criminals in all districts of the province so that lives and wealth of people may be saved by maintaining law and order. In this regard, Vehari Police sent its last month progress report to the central police office. According to the report, Vehari police under leadership of DPO Ehsaan Ullah Chohan performed its duties with full commitment, diligence, hard work for ensuring safety, wealth and lives of public during smart lockdown last month and continued intelligence based operations and actions against the criminals.

Vehari police under its best strategies traced the blind murder of a lawyer in the area of Saddar Mailsi and also traced the four accused. Legal action is being taken against these four accused. Likewise, during this period, force of Vehari police continued crackdown for elimination of crimes despite performing multi dimensional duties. In a campaign launched for the arrest of criminals wanted in heinous crimes, police teams did a great work and arrested 259 hardened proclaimed offenders among them 21 are of A category whereas 238 are of B category. Moreover, in operation against criminals, 181 accused have been arrested and heavy amount of illegal weapons have been recovered from criminals which include 07 kalashinkoves, 18 guns, 05 rifles, 143 pistols, 03 revolvers, 05 carbeen and hundreds of bullets.

In taking action against anti social elements, 238 cases have been registered and 248 accused have been arrested and 136 kgs chars, 5071 liter alcohol with Lehan, 92 kilo Opium, 240 gram heroin, 28 kg bhang, 09 working kilns and alcohol manufacturing material was also recovered from their possession. Implementing National Action Plan, 80 cases have been registered among them 44 cases against loud speaker act, 21 cases against tenancy act, 02 cases under wall chalking and 13 cases under violation of security ordinance. Likewise, taking actions against fire work by different police stations of Vehari 39 cases have been lodged, 159 cases against over speeding, 35 cases for power theft, 10 cases against kite flying, 03 cases under price control, 16 cases against gambling act and many cases have been registered against illegal petrol agencies and illegal gas refilling. Furthermore, with respect to Coronavirus, in violation of section 144 ZF, 03 cases have been registered.

During this period Vehari police arrested 19 members of 06 gangs and also ensured recovery of luggage having amount more than 39 lacs 3 thousand rupees whereas 248 cases against property crime has been traced and amount of more than 03 crore 97 lacs and 62 thousand rupees were recovered whereas during current year, property of more than 13 crore 75 lacs 02 thousand rupees were also recovered. DPO Vehari Ehsan Ullah chohan told that all available resources are being utilized for maintenance of law and order and safety of imam bargahs, mourning processions during Muharram in accordance with the SOPs and all officers and officials are performing their duties with diligence and high alert for protection of wealth and lives of people.
