Rickshaw lifters held
LAHORE–Gowalmandi police claimed to have arrested a notorious rickshaws’ robber here on Thursday while six rickshaws were also recovered from his possession.
As per modus operandi, the accused Mohammad Majid used to visit parking stands, markets and open places near residential colonies and robbed the auto-rickshaws.
During preliminary investigation, the accused have been imprisoned many times while he has confessed of his crime, which he committed in Gowalmandi, Rang Mahel, Mochi Gate, Lower Mall, New Anarkali and Nulakha.
Meanwhile, SP Traffic Headquarters Sohail Ahmed Chaudhary Thursday inspected the arrangements for smooth flow of traffic on the Ring Road and appreciated performance of traffic wardens.
According to an official communiqué the SP directed the wardens to improve the arrangements further to ensure ‘Line and Lane system’ besides checking over-speeding.
During his unannounced visit he warned of strict action in cases of over-speeding and other violations of traffic rules.
