As per directions of IG Punjab Shoaib Dastgir crackdown against criminals and anti-social elements is continued. Okara Police arrested 142 proclaimed offenders during last month. Heavy amounts of weapons and drugs have been recovered.

As per directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir, crackdown against criminals and anti social elements in all districts of the province is continued on and in this regard Okara Police under supervision of District Police Officer Umar Saeed Malik achieved landmark success after clutching the necks of criminals. District Police Officer Umar Saeed Malik  shared  police report progress and told that police teams performed their duties with full diligence and commitment and also followed the implementation of SOPs of lockdown along with security duties of Ramzan ul Mubarak and Eid Ul Fitr and also continued crackdown against criminals. He said that police have been on high alert and ensured implementation of precautionary measures during lockdwon especially abiding of social distancing whereas it has also performed its duties during Traweeh namaz, Day of martyrdom of Ali, congregations of eid event and other many issues with full diligence and commitment and also ensured protection of wealth and lives of people. Likewise, in a campaign meant for arrest of proclaimed offenders, during last month police arrested 142 proclaimed offenders involved in murder, dacoity and robbery among them 25 are of A category whereas 105 criminals are of B category and 12 are court absconders. During this period, 109 cases of weapons were registered in which 02 klashinkove, 07 rifles, 18 guns, 81 pistols, 01 carbeen and 665 bullets have been recovered from the accused. During this period, 124 cases of drugs have been registered and 88.205 kg chars, 2309 litre alcohol and 12 working alcohol manufacturing kilns have been recovered from the accused. Following the implementation of laws under national action plan, 12 cases under violation of sound system act, 06 under sensitive installations, 20 cases under inns (temporary residence) ordinance have been registered. Total two encounters occurred during this period of time in which dangerous accused Yousaf alias Yousafi son of Muhammad shareef caste Maachi resident of Aman wala and Sadi Ahmad son of Khadim Hussain caste muslim sheikh resident of imli moti were killed.  26 cases have been registered in a crackdown against gamblers and heavy gambling money have been seized. Moreover, for protection from pandemic of Corona, 36 cases have been registered under section 144 against different persons. IG Punjab emphasized that crackdown against criminals should be speeded up and especially inspection and monitoring of security plan of sensitive places should be continued whereas officials should be fully briefed about sensitivity of their duties and challenges so that they may perform their duties diligently.
