Transfer of traffic wardens in different districts, roataion policy and issues of renewal of traffic license having more than five years of expiry were examined.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir said that after relaxation in lock down and specially in the last decade of Ramzan, special attention should be given to traffic management on central roads especially in big cities and all available resources under comprehensive strategies should be utilized in order to maintain smooth flow of traffic for facilitation of the citizens whereas Chief Traffic Officers should personally supervise the implementation of traffic control plan by moving into the field. He further added that in the wake of easing down of lockdown, expected pressure of traffic on roads, best management plan should be ensured for maintenance of smooth flow of traffic and there should be no delay in taking action against violation of traffic laws. Moroever, he added that a fully prepared special campaign should be started against one wheeling and over speeding in all districts across the province. He said that surety bonds should be taken from the parents of those individuals who are involved in one wheeling so that precious lives of young individuals should be saved by eliminating such bloody game. He further added that steps should be taken to reduce accidents on high ways with the mutual cooperation of PHP and District Traffic Police and educational campaign should be kept on continued for awareness of the citizens with respect to traffic laws. These views were expressed by him when he was chairing a session of matters of traffic police department. During the session, all perspectives were deeply examined for improving and upgrading transfer and rotation policy of traffic wardens in different districts whereas matters regarding renewal of traffic licence having expired more than five years were also examined deeply.
During the session, Addl IG traffic Punjab Sahibzada Shehzada Sultan briefed IG Punjab about different projects, professional matters and overall performance, upon which IG while giving directions said that traffic police is an important force of Punjab Police therefore, better planning and effective use of resources should employed for uninterrupted flow of traffic for facilitation of the citizens. He further said that most of the accidents on the roads occur due to carelessness of drivers, substandard gadgets and over speeding therefore, CTOs should reduce the accidents by taking steps under comprehensive strategies keeping in view all perspectives and also monitor personally the mutual teams of PHP and Traffic Police.
