MUZAFFARGARH: Muzaffargarh police arrested three persons and registered a case against six suspects for holding a camel fight at Pul 88 of Kot Addu on Sunday.
Muzaffargarh had a partial lockdown but a large number of people came to watch the camel fight.
District Police Officer Syed Nadeem Abbas took stern action against the people and on his order, Kot Addu Deputy Superintendent of Police Syed Ejaz Bukhari arrested three people for organising the fight. Of them, Muhammad Arif and Bilal were arrested on the spot.
A case was registered against them under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Amendment) Act on Sunday and violation of Section 144.
The DPO said his teams were busy checking parks and recreation places at Taunsa Barrage and Fiaz Park.
On the other hand, the city area was under a lockdown and most of the people cooperated with administration. All shops and shopping centres had been closed except the food items shops.
