Youth arrested for uploading aerial firing video on social media

FAISALABAD: Khurarianwala police have arrested a youth on the charge of aerial firing and uploading the video on social media.

The police spokesman said Wednesday that Ata Fareed of Khurarianwala-Jhumra Road opened fire in the air and made its video and later shared it on social media. Receiving information, City Police Officer (CPO) Sohail Ahmad Ch took strict notice and directed the police to arrest the accused without any delay. Therefore, a special team constituted who conducted raids and arrested the accused Ata Fareed within one hour. The police recovered a Kalashnikov and 150 bullets from his possession.

Two SHOs suspended over negligence: City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry Wednesday suspended two SHOs over their poor performance.

The CPO suspended Basharat Hussain SHO of Madina Town police and Muhammad Akram SHO of Mansoorabad police station.

The CPO appointed Rana Rashid Mehmood as SHO Madina Town and Ali Imran Jappa SHO Mansoorabad police. He also appointed Muhammad Ilyas as SHO Tandlian Wala (Sadr) and Ghulam Rasool as SHO Sandal Bar.

ENCROACHMENTS REMOVED: Under direction of Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General Muhammad Sohail Khawaja, the anti-encroachment staff of the FDA removed encroachments in different areas of the city.

The encroachments were removed at Arshad Market, Jhang Bazaar, Sir Syed Town and Islamnagar.

The anti-encroachment staff removed all kinds of temporary and permanent encroachments that were troublesome for citizens.

The DG said the anti-encroachment drive would continue and the housing colonies, bazaars, markets and footpaths would be made clear of encroachments.

Two commit suicide: A young man and a married girl committed suicide in separate incidents in and around here. Police said Wednesday that 35-year-old Danish, resident of Umair Town, consumed poison pills after quarreling with his family members over a domestic dispute.

He was shifted to a hospital where he breathed his last. Similarly, 30-year-old Haseena, wife of Shamsher and a resident of Jhang Road, consumed poisonous drink after an altercation occurred between her and her in-laws. The girl was shifted to hospital where doctors tried their best to save her life but in vain and she expired.

The police handed over both the dead bodies to their relatives for burial after completing necessary formalities.

Fake food inspector held: Jaranwala police have arrested a fake food inspector on charge of extorting money from shopkeepers. Police spokesman said Wednesday that a shopkeeper of Jaranwala filed a complaint to Punjab Food Authority (PFA), contending that Zahid Awan of Chak 113-GB dubbed him as a Food Inspector and extorted money from him.

The PFA authority forwarded the complaint to Jaranwala police for take action and arrest of the accused. Therefore, Jaranwala police during a raid arrested the fake food inspector Zahid Awan and started investigation by registering a case.
