CTD arrests three militants, seizes arms, explosives

FAISALABAD: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claims to have arrested three alleged militants and seized arms and explosives from their possession near Gatwala Bridge on Monday.

The CTD spokesman said the Faisalabad office team received an information that three militants belonging to proscribed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were present near Gatwala Bridge along with explosive material and arms.

Following the information, a CTD team conducted a raid and arrested Abdul Salam, Maodood Christi and Ali Muhammad Khan. The team also seized explosive material – safety fuse, three detonators, two pistols and 10 bullets – from their possession.

He said the arrested persons had planned to attack Law-Enforcement Agencies personnel.

They had made important disclosures regarding programme of the terrorist organisation in this region, he added.

Investigation has been launched after lodging a case in CTD police station, Faisalabad.
