As per directions of IG Punjab Shoaib Dastgir, a massive crackdown against anti social elements and criminals is continued across the province.

 Jhang Police arrested 154 proclaimed offenders, 74 court absconders and 84 drugs dealers during the month.

As per directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir police teams are engaged in a crackdown against professional criminals in all districts of Punjab so that protection of wealth and lives of people may be ensured. In this crackdown, strict and quick actions are being taken against proclaimed offenders, court absconders, thieves, dacoits, drug dealers and illegal weapon holders. In this regard, DPO Jhang Muhammad Hasan Raza Khan shared the details in a report and told that from 23rd December 2019 to 23rd January 2020, 154 proclaimed offenders, 74 court absconders and 26 habitual criminals have been arrested among which 05 proclaimed offenders of A category are included, moreover some stolen property has also been recovered from 01 gang involved in different criminal activities. 84 drug dealers have been put behind bars in order to clean the Jhang district from curse of drugs. 34.789 kg chars, 0.800 kg opium, 2.662 km heroin, 910 liter lehn, 689 bottles of wine 04 working wine making kilns have been seized. As per national action plan, during a crackdown campaign against illegal arms in district Jhang 57 accused have been arrested after registering cases against them. 09 guns, 04 rifles, 02 repeater, 01 carbeen, 01 revolver, 01 dagger, 43 pistols, 157 cartridges have been recovered from the accused. 04 cases have been registered against violation of loud speaker act. Likes wise, 42 cases have been registered against selling loose petrol and installed illegal gas cylinders in vehicles. 15 cases have been registered against illegal and 21 cases have been registered against power theft. 03 cases have been registered of Aerial firing, 01 case have been registered against violation of Tenancy Act, 03 cases have been registered under price control committee and 04 cases have been registered against violation of security act and legal actions have been taken against them. Above all, many criminals involved in dacoity, cattle theft and heist have been arrested and stole property worth Rs.4373740  have been recovered from them which has also been handed over to the real owners. DPO Jhang further said that search and snipe operation are being taken in the district in order to eliminate crimes from Jhang and the convenience of law abiding citizens is being considered during search, sweep and combing operations.
