Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations Wing) Lahore Rai Babar Saeed said that Lahore Police have been implementing zero tolerance policy against the criminals particularly drug peddlers and gamblers. Lahore Police will deal with these anti-social elements with iron hands.
On the directions of DIG Rai Babar Saeed, Lahore Police, in continuation of its crackdown against the drug peddlers and gamblers in the city, arrested as many as 2123 accused persons during last 45 days. The DIG has directed all the divisional SPs of Lahore Police to speed up the crackdown against narcotics sellers and gamblers. SSP Operations Lahore Muhammad Naveed and divisional SPs are monitoring the actions taken against drug peddlers and gamblers by Lahore Police.
Accordingly, City Division Police arrested 225, Cantt Division 262, Civil Lines Division 168, Sadar Division 175, Iqbal Town Division 127 where as Model Town Division Police arrested 201 drug peddlers during their crackdown. The police also recovered 203kg Charas, 1090grm ICE, 08kg heroin, 7460grm opium, more than 10kg Bhang and 14262 liters of liquor from the arrested criminals.
