Punjab IG orders speeding up pace of projects meant for public facilities

Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir said that all ongoing projects meant for public facilities and change in thana culture initiated by Punjab Police in all districts should be completed within given timeframe, especially the follow up of summaries of new projects and for acquisition of resources sent to Punjab government should be taken whereas summaries to finance and other departments should get finalised with personal interest and attention of officers.

He further said that the safe city Lahore based projects of Integrated command, control and communication system which are under construction in big cities of the province like Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Sargodha should be speeded up so that with use of modern technology based modern policing should be imparted for protection of lives and properties of people. He further said that close supervision and monitoring are mandatory for completion of any project therefore all officers should launch new projects by keeping within the limit of available resources for change in thana culture, betterment of the force and improving public service delivery and also their working should be made more effective in the light of feedback from public.

He further said that internal accountability branch should ensure standard inspection of Police offices, lines and police stations and also directed all DPOs and SPs to furnish the inspection report of their under control police stations to Central police office regularly.

He further added that mutual trust between police and public cannot be ensured without improving public service delivery system so all officers should allocate specific time for hearing of public issues by adopting open door policy and also ask directly the public about behaviour and performance of police teams.
