On the directions of IG Punjab, Shoaib Dastagir crackdown against the anti-social elements is continued.
Layyah Police arrested 117 proclaimed offenders and 36 other accused, 2 gangs confiscating a large number of illegal weapons and drugs.

According to the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastagir crackdown against the anti-social elements is continued and a large no of criminals including proclaimed offenders are being arrested.
In this regard, DPO Layyah Usman Ijaz Bajwa and his team achieved many successes in arresting criminals involved in serious crimes including proclaimed offenders, thieves, dacoits, drug peddlers, and illegal weapons holders. DPO Layyah told that in last one month they have arrested 17 proclaimed offenders, 6 law absconders, and 30 habitual criminals while tracing 11 cases of robbery and other crimes 8 criminals of 2 gangs were arrested and from their possession looted items worth Rs 9 lacs and 3 pistols, SMG Rifle and 20 rounds. 35 drug peddlers were arrested and from their possession, 10 KG chars, Heroin about half KG, 256 wine bottles and 4 working wine kilns have been seized. Layyah Police implementing National Action Plan recovered 1 rifle 1 repeator2 revolver, 17 pistols, and 11 bullets while 2 cases were also registered on violation of loudspeaker act. District police also took action on the sale of loose petrol registering 8 cases and 14 cases on illegal gas refilling and 4 cases of electricity theft while 14 cases of child labor act and 1 case under telegraph act were registered. Criminals involved in dacoity robbery and cattle theft were also recovered and looted items worth Rs 5302500. DPO Layyah further said that according to the directions of IG Punjab to crush anti-social elements and purge the district from the criminal elements search operation and snipe checking is being further speeded up and I am personally monitoring these actions to ensure that law-abiding citizens does not face any inconvenience or problem.
