LAHORE: According to the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir, a crackdown on the anti-social elements was continued and a large number of criminals, including proclaimed offenders were arrested.

In this regard, DPO Layyah Usman Ijaz Bajwa and his team achieved many successes in arresting criminals involved in serious crimes, including proclaimed offenders, thieves, dacoits, drug peddlers, and illegal weapons holders. DPO Layyah said that in last one month they had arrested17 proclaimed offenders, six law absconders, and 30 habitual criminals while tracing 11 cases of robbery and eight criminals of two gangs were arrested and from their possession looted items worth Rs9 lakh and three pistols, SMG Rifle and 20 rounds. Thirty-five drug peddlers were arrested and from their possession, 10-kg chars, about half kg heroin, 256 wine bottles and four working wine kilns had been seized.

Layyah Police implementing National Action Plan recovered one rifle, two revolvers, 17 pistols, and 11 bullets while two cases were also registered on violation of loudspeaker act.
