IG Punjab ordered security high alert across the province on Eid Milad-Un-Nabi

Search sweep combing and intelligence-based operations should be conducted in the vicinity of sensitive mosques, worship places and routes of the procession

To promote the sense of protection among citizens joint flag march of all field formations should be conducted

Inspector General Police Punjab Capt (r) Arif Nawaz Khan said that on the Eid Milad-Un-Nabi all sources should be utilized to provide security to Mehafil e Naat and processions across all districts and search sweep combing and intelligence-based operations should be conducted in the vicinity of sensitive mosques, worship places and routes of the procession. He further said that for the security CCTV cameras, walkthrough gates and metal detectors should be used ensuring sufficient security arrangements for minority worship places on the routes of processions. He further said that to promote the sense of security among the citizens all police formations including elite force, traffic police, and Punjab police should conduct flag marches jointly so that people can attend religious gatherings without any apprehensions. He further said that while making security arrangements special heed must be paid on traffic management so that public lives are not affected. In this regard while issuing further directions he said that DPOs and CPOs should monitor the search, sweep, combing and intelligence-based operations personally while on sensitive worship places important buildings and in markets commando should be deputed in civvies. IG Punjab further said that while making arrangements for the security of A category processions convenience of law-abiding citizens must also be considered.
