Upon directions of IG Punjab, Internal accountability in Punjab Police is further speeded up

On proof of carelessness, misconduct and corruption 47 officers and officials of PHP dismissed from service

As per directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Captain retired Arif Nawaz Khan, internal accountability in all formations of Punjab Police is further speeded up and departmental action is being taken against the officials and officers involved in carelessness, misconduct and corruption. In this regard Addl IG PHP Manzoor Sarwar Chaudhary has issued directions to complete the inquiries against such officers and officials ensuring a strict departmental action, acting on which 47 officers and officials has been dismissed from the service.

According to the details, a departmental inquiry was done against the PHP officials involved in corruption, in the light of the inquiry report, these officials were called in orderly room for further hearing, after which SSP Headquarters Mehmood Ul Hassan issued orders of their dismissal.

Officials dismissed on account of carelessness, misconduct and corruption include 1 Inspector, 7 ASIs, 2 Head Constables and 37 Constables while 6 other officials were punished according to the severity of their misconduct. At this occasion, Addl IG PHP Manzoor Sarwar Chaudhary said that there is no place in police department for black sheep involved in corruption. He further said that department appreciates and encourages the dutiful and good officials while it is also ensured that the officials who cause disgrace and bad name for the hardworking and honest police officers and department must not be spared and a strict and immediate departmental action is taken against them. He further said that making highways safe and crime-free patrolling police will continue to render every possible help to the travellers.
