IG Punjab Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz Khan applauded officers and officials of police for security arrangements during decade of Muharram ul Haram.

Police force provided fool-proof security to 9107 processions and 36138 majalis.

Officers and officials should perform their duties with same zeal for ensuring protection of properties and lives of people and also for supremacy of law in future, IG Punjab.

Inspector General of Police Punjab captain retired Arif Nawaz Khan praised CCPO Lahore, all RPOs, CPOs and DPOs and said that police force has performed their duties during muharram in hot weather, long duty hours and threat of terrorism, this spirit of performing duties are pride for all nation and also for the department. In his wireless message to the force IG Punjab said that during to first decade of muharram ul haram Punjab Police collectively provided security to 9107 processions and 36138 majalis and proved that despite limited resources, scorching heat and tough circumstances, nothing could shake the determination of Police force. IG Punjab further said that I offer my congratulations to all police force including district police Elite Force, Punjab Highway Patrol, PC, Dolphin, PRU, Wireless staff, Traffic staff, Control room staff, volunteers and ministerial staff and said that their performance rightly deserves praise. He moreover said that i will also like to pay thanks to all citizens, notables, scholars of all walks of life and other institutions who took part and cooperated with police force. IG Punjab further said that good behavior of police during the duties is praiseworthy and exemplary and it ensured maintenance of atmosphere of law and order. IGP said that i hope that police force will not leave no stone unturned for maintaining of law and order in the future. Moreover IG Punjab captain retired Arif Nawaz paid a visit to central control room and reviewed the working of staff of control room and updated situations of central processions of yum e ashoor along with security arrangements. AIG operations Imran Kishwar briefed IG Punjab about central procession and majalis in all districts across the province and said that all processions and majalis of ashoor are going on towards their routes and places whereas senior officers themselves are supervising the security arrangements of sensitive processions and majalis. IG Punjab directed to staff of control room to work with diligence and commitment and said that they should keep the deployed officials aware of the updated circumstances of processions whereas all available resources should be utilized for transmission and receiving of information should be ensured. IG Punjab stressed upon that no field officials or staff room staff should leave their point of duties until unless the last mourner leaves the place of procession or majlis.
