Inspector General of Police Punjab Captain retired Arif Nawaz Khan said that Punjab Police is performing its security duty of Muharam Ul Haram processions, Majalis and processions actively and at high alert, all available resources including latest technology in this regard is being utilized so that all can pray and worship without any trouble. He further said that security of mourners is our duty and all officers and officials will continue to perform without worrying for their own lives with complete honesty and responsibility. He expressed these views during meeting with a delegation of Shia religious scholars at Central Police Office. Delegation was led by Agha Shah Hussain Qazalbash and other Ulema and Zkireen was part of the delegation alongwith Allama Mushtaq Hussain Jafari. Delegation shared some issues about processions and Majalis, on which IG Punjab immediately issued orders to resolve the issues.
During meeting religious scholars said that they are satisfied with the security arrangements for the Imambargahs, processions and Majalis. IG Punjab directed Addl IG Operations to specially consider the recommendations by administration of the Majalis and processions while making security arrangements so that with mutual consultations best arrangements can be ensured. IG Punjab told delegation members that till the last mourners leave the Majlis or processions security officials will remain high alert at their duty points while in police control rooms monitoring of the security arrangements is also being ensured consistently. He further said that all available resources will be utilized for the security of 9 and 10 Muharam main processions and Majalis while all RPOs and DPOs will also visit the field personally to review the security arrangements.
