To combat terrorism in the province, Punjab police is working round the clock according to the national action plan designed by the government and the first CTD batch trained for the purpose will be passed out by the end of this month.
This was stated by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera at CPO today, while addressing the visiting delegation of Probationer ASPs belonging to 41st Specialized Training Programme at National Police Academy, Islamabad. The delegation was included 18 ASPs including 04 women ASPs, 01 DIG, 01 SP, 02 DSPs and 06 staff members. Addl: IGP Welfare and Finance, Sohail Khan, Addl: IGP Investigation, Tariq Masood Yasin, DIG Training, Saad Akhter Bherwana, DIG Headquarters, Farooq Mazhar, DIG Operations, Lahore, Dr. Haider Ashraf, AIG Admin: and Security, Zubair Dreshak and PSO to IGP, Tariq Rustam Cauhan were also present on this occasion.
The PPO further said that the country is passing through a crucial time which required the police officers to be more honest, vigilant and professional. He said that various steps have been taken to improve the investigation system, change of thana culture, elimination of corruption and enhancing the capacity building of the Punjab police force. He also answered the questions of various officers on this occasion.
While, briefing the delegation on this occasion regarding the working of the police department, AIG Finance Hussain Habib Imtiaz told the delegation that the total force of Punjab police is 179921 which is working under the command of 01 IGP, 09 RPOs, 04 CPOs, 31 DPOs, 162 SDPOs and 708 SHOs.
