Relevant circle officer will respond 15 calls about cases of violence against women and children, rape, and blasphemy

Inspector General Police Punjab Captain (retired) Arif Nawaz Khan said that Safe City is a state of the art project regarding smart and community policing and proved very helpful in crime control, traffic management, monitoring and surveillance and in improving the police performance. He further said that the relevant circle officer will respond to the 15 calls about cases of violence against women and children, rape, and blasphemy while Punjab Police data with PITB will be transferred to the safe city till 30th Sep. He further said that Finance department would be requested to release funds at earliest for the completion of Rawalpindi & DG Khan Safe City Projects. He also directed to further improve the Crisis Management Centre at Safe City Qurban Lines so that in case of floods, election and any other crisis situation can be managed using crisis centre as headquarters and also to release information to the media. He expressed these views while issuing directions to the officers during fifth meeting of Safe City Management Committee.

During meeting IG Punjab issued directions to continue the issuance of E challans via safe city cameras and also to launch an awareness campaign regarding the traffic laws awareness. During meeting IGP also said that in new Safe City projects police response and rescue forces should also work jointly following the SOP,s of Lahore Safe City Authority so that with effective coordination in emergency conditions street crime terrorism incidents and traffic accidents can be avoided. During meeting MD Safe City Ali Amir Malik, CCPO Lahore, BA Nasir, DIG Safe City Kamran Khan, CEO Safe City Akbar Nasir Khan and other senior officers were present.
