French Embassy delegation calls on IG Punjab Captain (retired) Arif Nawaz Khan at Central Police Office
During meeting matters of mutual interest, professional training of the Punjab Police and increasing the bilateral cooperation were discussed.
French Police instructors will train Punjab Police officials on special operations, hostage situations, and sniper skills.
Inspector General Police Punjab Captain (retired) Arif Nawaz Khan said that capacity building and training of Police officials on modern lines is among the top priorities of the department and in this regard mutual cooperation with other countries law enforcement agencies will be further strengthened. He further said that training syllabus of Punjab Police has been up graded to meet contemporary challenges and knowledge of international experts will further hone the skills of Punjab Police. He expressed these views while meeting two member delegations, Police Attache Mr. Emmaunel Tombolato, Deputy Police Attache Mr. Jean-Christophe Hilaire, from French Embassy to discuss matters of mutual interest and professional Police training.
During meeting a special training for capacity building of Punjab Police officials was decided under the supervision of French experts. This training will be imparted by French instructors to 30 police officials of Punjab Police on special operations, hostage situations and sniper skills to improve their capacity to deal with terrorists. During training snipers of Punjab police will be specially trained to perform better against criminal elements and terrorists. The training session will start in the month of October 2019 at Elite Training Centre Bedian and officials from Elite Force will also participate in it. During meeting French delegation appreciated the efforts of Punjab Police against the terrorism and use of new technology to control crime and purge the society from anti-social elements and terrorists. Delegates also admired the standards of service delivery projects stating them at par with international standards. French delegates further said that professional cooperation with Punjab Police will be further enhanced in the future. Addl IG Operation Inam Ghani, Addl IG Elite Shahid Hanif, Addl IG PHP Manzoor Sarwar Chaudhary, DIG IT Zulfiqar Ahmad, Commandant Police Training College Fiaz Ahmad Dev along with other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
