Delegation of national criminal investigation services from Norway called on IG Punjab captain retired Arif Nawaz Khan.

Norwegian delegation acknowledged the performance of Punjab Police against controlling terrorism and crimes despite limited resources.

The delegation also paid thanks to Punjab Police for extending cooperation in tracing murder case and arresting the murderer.

Four member Norwegian delegation of national criminal investigation services met IG Punjab captain retired Arif Nawaz Khan at central police office. Former Nordic Liaison officer Mr. Lindholt and incoming newly appointed Mr. Phillips Fossnes with other senior officers were present in the delegation. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest and enhancement in professional skills between the institutions were discussed. IG Punjab told the Norwegian delegation about the working and newly launched projects of Punjab Police. IGP told that Punjab Police is promoting the means of information technology in investigation and controlling crimes and also smart and community police projects have been launched to facilitate the general public and the establishment of Police service centers in all districts is the prototype in this regard. More than 14 services are being provided to the citizens in these service centers under one roof. IGP further told that Punjab Police have also constituted special protection unit force equipped with modern training and weapons in order to provide security to foreigners whereas CTD is engaged in conducting intelligence based operations to foil the activities of terrorists. IG Punjab told that police surveillance system is being established in order to improve monitoring system of sensitive districts after big cities.

Norwegian delegation paid thanks to Punjab Police for tracing and arresting accused of a murder despite having limited resources. The delegation acknowledged the performance of Punjab Police in controlling crimes and terrorism. They further said that all information technology based projects of Punjab Police have quality of international standard whereas the professional cooperation between the institutions will be further enhanced in the future. In the end of the meeting IG Punjab presented memorial souvenir to Norwegian delegation from Punjab Police. Addl IG operations Punjab Inam Ghani was also present on this occasion.
