IG lauds police for recovering kidnapped girl

LAHORE: While distributing cash prizes among 13 police officials for recovering a minor girl from her kidnappers, Punjab Inspector General Police Arif Nawaz Khan has lauded the performance of the top leadership of Lahore police.

Addressing a ceremony organised in this regard at the Central Police Office here on Monday, the IGP said Lahore Capital City Police Officer B A Nasir, Investigation DIG Inam Waheed and CIA SP Usman Ijaz Bajwa deserved felicitations for safely recovering a minor girl, Meerab, who was kidnapped for ransom from Ameen Park locality of Lahore.

He said the police effectively used the latest technology to recover the child from Hafizabad and handed her over safely to her family.

The IGP said it was a challenging case for the Lahore police which successfully worked it out in a professional way.

He said the criminals were using the latest technology to execute their heinous plans which had increased the challenges for the force, directing all the officers to further equip themselves with the technology to improve their performance to ensure public service and safety.

The IGP specially praised the CIA team for professionally investigating the case and resolving it within a short time.

On the occasion, Mr Arif distributed commendation certificates and cash awards of Rs280,000 among 13 policemen. including DSP Muhammad Usman Haider, inspectors Muhamad Ashfaq Butt, Sajwar Tariq, sub-inspectors Waseem Akram, Abdul Wahab, Amir Shahzad, Hussain Farooq, trainiee sub-inspectors Shahpar Shahbaz, Abdul Manan Iftikhar, ASIs Naeem Shehzad, Maqbool Ahmad, Muhamd Shahbaz Ali and Munawar Ali.
