MUZAFFARGARH: A joint team of police, Quick Response Force and other law-enforcement agencies on Wednesday took into custody more than 20 suspects during an operation in river belt and kacha areas.
It was for the first time that a team comprising 1,000 personnel launched a search operation in kacha and forest areas. The team through biometric and other devices also searched hotels, houses and inns.
District Police Officer Sadiq Ali Dogar said the operation had been started in areas of vital installations like Parco, PSO and Kapco and arrested more than 20 suspects.
Meanwhile, Mahmoodkot Station House Officer Azhar Haider said police arrested some suspects allegedly involved in looting cash through ATM machines, Benazir Income Support Programme cards and recovered amount from them. Further investigation is under way.
