IGP Orers To Compile Monthly Reports Of Patrolling Boats

LAHORE: Inspector General Police (IGP), Punjab Captain (retired) Arif Nawaz Khan directed to compile monthly reports of patrolling boats, number of personals and fuel expenditure of all riverine check posts in diffirent districts and to share performance report with CPO of last 6 months of all riverine checkposts by 30 june.
He further said that riverine checkposts are playing an important role in protection of property and lives of inhabitants of Southern districts near river banks.
PHP border police and other forces should work in close coordination to further speed up the process of bringing the criminal elements to justice and personals deputed on these check post especially in kacha area must not be sent on any other duty. He further said that all DPOs should visit riverine check posts in their respective districts to monitor working and to ensure that their resources are not being used by any other. He expressed these views while directing senior officers in a high level meeting. Meeting was organized to discuss different matters regarding riverine check posts, during meeting Addl: IG PHP Manzoor Sarwar Chaudhary briefed IG Punjab about the working of riverine check posts in his briefing he shared that staff deputed at riverine check posts in Mianwali, Layyah, Muzafargarh, D.G. Khan and Rahim Yar Khan is performing patrolling and surveillance duties efficiently due to which activities of criminal gangs significantly decreased. IG Punjab directed senior officers to provide officials at checkposts all required resources on priority basis including speed boats, while registering private boat operators’ record of all passengers should be monitored to ensure flawless security arrangements he added.
DIG visits Punjab Assembly to
review security arrangements
DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan Friday visited the Punjab Assembly on the Annual Budget Day of the Punjab province to review security arrangements at the building and related places. Ashfaq Khan met with Provincial Minister for Population Welfare Col (retd) Hashim Dogar at Punjab Assembly and briefed him about the security arrangements made by the Lahore Police on the occasion of presentation of annual budget.
Strict security arrangements were made at the Punjab Assembly building and its surrounding areas along with roads and adjacent buildings. Policemen, along with Anti-Riot Force jawans, were on high alert on the occasion, whereas teams of Dolphin squad and Police Response Unit ensured effective patrolling around the Punjab Assembly building and adjacent roads and areas.
Snipers were also deputed on the roofs of buildings around Punjab Assembly to keep an eye on all activities and any possible suspects on the occasion.
DIG Security Imran Ahmar, SSP Operations Lahore Ismail-ur-Rehman Kharak, SP Security Lahore Faisal Shehzad and other senior police officers were also present.
